FAQs
What is powder coating?
Powder coating is a dry finishing process, representing over 15% of the total industrial finishing market, powder is used on a wide array of products. More and more companies specify powder coatings for a high-quality, durable finish, allowing for maximized production, improved efficiencies, and simplified environmental compliance. Used as functional (protective) and decorative finishes, powder coatings are available in an almost limitless range of colours and textures, and technological advancements have resulted in excellent performance properties.
What is Galvanising?
Galvanisation or galvanization (or galvanizing as it is most commonly called) is the process of applying a protective zinc coating to iron or steel, to prevent rusting. The most common method is hot dip galvanizing, in which steel sections are submerged in a bath of molten zinc. Galvanizing protects in a number of ways:
It forms a barrier that prevents corrosive substances from reaching the underlying steel or iron.
The zinc serves as a sacrificial anode so that even if the coating is scratched, the exposed steel will still be protected by the remaining zinc.
The zinc protects its base metal by corroding before iron.
The zinc surface reacts with the atmosphere to form a compact, adherent patina that is insoluble in rainwater.
Do you provide Method statements and Risk assessments?
Upon request we can provide method statements and risk assessments for all our installation and site work.
Do you do vehicle repairs?
We do not currently undertake any work on vehicles which require welding chassis or wheel arches etc
Do you correct work that has already been started by another company?
We do not interfere with any work that has previously been undertaken by another company. This is due to many factors but mainly the overall finish and compliance of the product. We can only guarantee work that we carry out ourselves from start to finish. Any existing steelwork that is not performing as it should we would usually recommend being replaced.
If I place an order, when will it be ready?
Our turnaround from fabrication to install can be anything from 6 weeks – 12 weeks or more, depending upon the specification & size of the order. This is to ensure all works are made and fit to the highest standard within a realistic timescale.
Due to the bespoke designs we create and our schedule of works, please note that our timescales are subject to change.
An estimated timescale can be given upon enquiry.
Our standard procedure is to provide an install/delivery date on order confirmation, once a deposit has been received.
